Add Your Logo To A Video File
- Prepare your logo by opening your favorite image editor and making a new image file, try to use a suitable dimensions and suitable color that will look good in the final video also make it as simple and as small as possible.
- Fill all the areas that you want to be transparent with black.
- Save the image as bmp, jpg or tga.
- Open VirtualDub, Drag and Drop your video on it.
- Click Video > Full processing mode.
- Click Video > Filters or (Ctrl + F).
- In the Filters window, click Add.
- In the "Add Filter" window scroll down to logo and double click on it or choose it and click Ok.
- In the "filter: logo" window click "Logo image" and browse to the logo image you have created.
- Check the three check boxes: "Enable per-pixel alpha blending…", "Use premultiplied alpha…" and "Use gray channel…".
- In the "Alpha image" browse to the same image file again.
- Click the "Show preview" button, you should now see your logo on the video.
- Change the "X offset" and "Y offset" to change the
position of your logo.
- You can also change the Opacity value if you like your logo to be semi transparent, you should see the results immediately in the "Filter preview" window.
- Click Ok twice to return to the main window, press
(Ctrl + P) or click Video > Compression to choose a
video compression - like Divx - and press F7 to save
the video file. Here is the final result:
Thank you for your nice words, VirtualDub saves the file as 16.84GB because by default, VirtualDub saves the file as uncompressed avi file. Uncompressed avi files are too big. So before saving your file, Click Video > Compression (Ctrl+P) and choose any of the codecs installed on your system. Most people prefer DivX or XVid if you have either of them installed (Xvid is free). Also, if your audio is not compressed, click Audio > Full processing mode, then Audio, compression and do as you did with video then Save your file normally.
thanks a lot ! really helpful !
What if my logo is black? When doing this, the logo itself becomes transparent. Is there a way to deal with logos which contain black portions? Thank you.
I don't think black logo will look good on video anyway. Like in the above example, it will disappear in the top black area.
Thank you soo much!!! Ive been looking for a tutorial like this for a long time, worked perefectly with absoloutly no problems. Thank you.

Great tutorial! Wow You Are Amazing Man! I have a question as Mahek and Junoon asked a question about the timing of the logo , means if we want just in 30sec of begining then fade away is there any way ? thanks again buddy
Thank you all for your nice comments. To show a logo on a part a movie only (e.g. the first 30 seconds), I would split that part, add my logo to it then join it again with the rest of the movie.
thank you, useful Tutorial, i will be back if i have quistions
any other way to add logo to all of my video ? I have about 200 videos
I think the easiest way now is from VLC which is like the most common player now. See here- http://www.skipser.toolsbysk.com/p/96/p/general/cool-things-you-didnt-know-vlc-media-player-can-do.html

Great tutorial. I have just one question. When I try to save a 73MB AVI file the program want's to save it as a 16.84GB AVI file and thats, Well, thats just too much space for one video. Is there a way to keep the original size and format?
