How To Remove Commercials From An AVI File Using VirtualDub?

I'll explain to you now how to remove commercials from an avi file (Divx, XVid...etc) using VirtualDub, a free program to work with Avi files.
  1. Open your video file in VirtualDub by dragging and dropping the file on the program.
  2. Play the video file and stop just before the beginning of the first commercials break (where you want to cut your video). You can also drag the position slider until you reach the location you want.
  3. Click Edit -> Set selection start or press Home key on your keyboard
  4. Play your video to a location just after the end of the commercials break (where you want to resume your video)
  5. Click Edit -> Set selection End or press End key on your keyboard, You'll notice a blue mark appears in the position slider.

  6. Click Edit -> Delete or press the Delete key on your keyboard.
  7. Repeat the previous steps tell you get rid of all the parts you want to remove.
  8. Now a very important step to make sure that you get the best quality and the fastest operation: Click Video -> Direct stream copy and Audio -> Direct stream copy.

  9. Click File -> Save as AVI or press F7 on your keyboard and save the file.
