How to Adjust Audio/Video Sync In An AVI File Using VirtualDub
Sometimes Audio/Video sync problems happen due to errors in capturing the video file. Here is how to fix it.
  1. Open your video file in VirtualDub by dragging and dropping the file on the program.
  2. Click on Audio -> Interleaving or press (Ctrl + I) on your keyboard.
  3. Now in Audio skew correction text box type a value in millisecond (1000 ms = 1 second) following the instructions: Use positive values if audio is playing too early or negative values if the opposite is true.

  4. Click Ok and don't forget to Click Video -> Direct stream copy and Audio -> Direct stream copy because we do not want re-encoding here.
  5. Click File -> Save as AVI or press F7 on your keyboard and save the file.

Thanks a ton! I used the interleaving and it works perfect. took about 5 mins for a 4 gig video clip but the audio and video are perfectly in sync now. = )

To Sync audio and video, one just needs to do two simple steeps: 1- Select Video > Full Processing Mode. 2- Select Video > Frame Rate... > Change so video and audio durations match. Simple and efficient! :D

I do save the file as "avi" (new name) and change it to "direct copy stream" both both in the audio an video tab, but is still plays out of sync everywhere else but VirtualDubMod... My OS is Win 7 Ultimat 64 bit...

Please help me. I fix the audio in VirtualDub and it plays pretty good in the program (on the left side box, is that the correct one?) But every time I save and play it somewhere else (like Windows Media Player or Movie Maker) the audio is the same as it was before, out of sync. Please can someone help me.
